Meta has also shared the news regarding the same via a detailed blog.
The 3 New Features are :
1. The ability to control your Online Presence. You will soon be able to manage who all can see you online – everyone, none, only contacts, or selected contacts. With this new tool, you can easily turn off your online activity and avoid many unwanted interactions.
You can reply to messages at your own time, without coming across as someone rude who ignores messages.
2. Another Feature allows you to quietly exit a group. Soon, you will be able to privately leave a group, without alerting all the members. Only the admins will be notified of your exit.
3. Finally, you’ll be able to prevent others from taking screenshots of your ‘view once’ messages. This feature will allow you to block screenshots for view once.
View Once is already an incredibly popular way to share photos or media that don’t need to have a permanent digital record. Now we’re enabling screenshot blocking for View Once messages for an added layer of protection. We’re testing this feature now and are excited to roll it out to users soon.
With these added features for strict privacy, more suspicious activities and exchanges could be made on WhatsApp. But this definitely does not mean that the other users on WhatsApp should not get the benefits of the new privacy features.
This still remains a debatable topic. However, with the introduction of these new tools, we will be able to have interactions, more privately on WhatsApp.
