You can now create shorts out of your long-form YouTube Videos

New Update: YouTube has recently rolled out a new feature that will allow creators to take snippets from their long-form videos and turn them into a 1-minute-short video.

As user-trend gets more inclined towards short-form video content, YouTube has now introduced a brand-new feature that allows creators to take segments from their long-form videos and convert them into minute-long videos.

With almost 1.5 billion YouTube users actively engaging with shorts every month, its significance to establish a brand/channel remains unquestioned.

This new “EDIT INTO A SHORT” option will help creators provide a freshly minted touch to their already existing long-form video content. A great way to repurpose your content.

In the latest update by YouTube, they posted – To make it easier to create even more new content, you can now convert up to 60 seconds from your own existing long-form YouTube videos and turn them into Shorts using all the same editing tools that you know and love (text, timeline editor, filters, etc.)

With this new update, creators will also be able to add new video segments to their clips, or add sections from their prevailing videos. This short video has to be one minute-long.

Plus, this short video that you create will also be linked back to your complete long-form video, helping you drive more traffic to your content.

This feature is supported by all the iOS and Android devices.

This is definitely a big win against TikTok, as the users over there are already not very satisfied with their creator fund and the platform’s current functionality.

Way to go, YouTube!
